Should I Call My Ex? My Ex Doesn't Return My Phone Calls

If your ex said he'd call you and he hasn't, you may be wondering whether you should call him again or wait for him to call. Normally when a guy says he is going to call you back, he should be held responsible. He should be the one calling you if he is the man of his word. But what if he doesn't call? What to do? Should you call him or wait for him to call? It all depends on the situation.
This happened to me recently. In fact it just happened a few days ago. I was calling my ex endlessly. I think I called him five times in one day. Here is what happened:
I was scheduled to have surgery. My ex boyfriend volunteered to drive me to the hospital in the morning. I knew he was supposed to go to the office, so naturally I asked my ex husband who is self-employed and doesn't have to be at work during the day to give me a ride from the hospital.
One day before the surgery my ex boyfriend came over to stay overnight so that he could drive me to the hospital in the morning, which I thought was very nice of him considering he is an ex, and that he lives sixty miles away.
I kept calling my ex husband to make sure that he would be picking me up. One issue of concern was that he said he would have to pick me up after the market closing (which is 1 PM our time here in California). I figured that I may need a ride sooner since my surgery started at 7 AM.
Well, guess what. I desperately tried to call my ex husband that day. Although he had said he would definitely pick me up from the hospital, he was not answering the phone.
Needless to say, my ex boyfriend offered a ride from the hospital since my ex husband flaked out on me.
It wasn't till later that day when I was already home (thanks to a ride from my lovely ex boyfriend) that my ex husband called me inquiring when to pick me up from the hospital. Well, it was already too late.
The moral of the story – don't put all your eggs in one basket and diversify your options. Always have a back up plan who can come to play if your plan number one doesn't work out!
