There are certain behaviors that across the board people deem as acts that sabotage and destroy your chances for commitment. It is almost unanimous with all the studies that lack of respect and infidelity are always at the top of the list of commitment killers.
The idea of what disrespect is in a relationship ranges from bad mouthing your boyfriend to infidelity. Things like ignoring him when he is talking to you is also considered disrespectful. The worst kind of disrespect that one can be guilty of in a relationship is based on studies is infidelity. Infidelity destroys trust and then respect for both parties regardless of the reason for cheating.
There is also a line that couples draw as to what is appropriate to discuss with those outside of the relationship between the two including best friends. Anything out of what was decided as appropriate is off limits to those outside of the relationship. It is a rule of thumb that one does not bad mouth their partner particularly in places like work or to their relatives.
You can however, discuss your feelings with close friends and relatives but try not to insult your boyfriend in the process. If he finds out he will feel betrayed. If it gets back to him there goes the trust between the two of you. He will feel he cannot either confide or be himself around you for fear of it getting back to outsiders.
