Get in contact with your ex. The good thing is that after his rebound relationship is over he is likely to contact you first just to check in. This is when you may need to bring your best foot forward if you want to reignite romance and bring back your lost love!
Dress nicely when you meet him. By now you should also be in a better place emotionally. When you are emotionally healthy and not needy, your ex may start to see you in a new light.
Treat your reconciliation as if you are starting anew. Don’t dwell on the old stuff. Move onto the new phase in your relationship. As long as you bring the good things out, he will be receptive to you.

This is not always the case. My ex left me saying he wanted someting more casual. Two weeks later he was dating another girl, and now they're still together a couple of years later with a kid.

I broke up with my ex, tried to play it cool, he contacted me and was willing to have a closure conversation and all the time did not fill me in that he was dating a girl who works for him. Of which hew did immediately after we broke up, and i mean immediately. They have been together now for two years, they moved in together in less than 4 months and they have just bought dogs! that is always the precursor for a kid. So i tried to talk and tried to be freind and then it did nt work.
So i have not spoken to him for over 9 months now, but doubt if i could ever get him back from that.
