Here is another question from a subscriber:
Hi,
Good morning, thanks for all this advice.
I need help, I just recently met this guy but we do not live in the same area. It takes him approximately an hour to reach where I live. We both like each other but, he says that I live too far and he would prefer to date someone who lives much closer to him.
This is as result of the expense that it's causing him to go back and forth.
I can't leave my present job to move closer to him, although he has not asked me to do that. I really like him a lot and he's is the first man that I've really liked in about ten yrs. I don't know what to do. Can you please give me some advice on what to do? I don't want the chance of getting to know him pass me by he's a really great guy.
Thanks in advance
Julian.
Hi Julian,
What he is telling you is that you aren't worth a lousy 20 bucks to him (in gas).
Are you sure you want to consider leaving your job and making the big change in your life such as move away for a guy to whom you aren't worth measly 20 bucks??
Ok, on a serious note, he knew where you lived, so by agreeing to go out with you he consented to the drive. Now he tells you that you aren’t worth the drive. This is his way of letting you down easy. He doesn’t want to be harsh to tell you there is no chemistry.
When a man likes a woman he will move the mountains to be with her.
And to make things worse, why would you move closer to him if he hasn’t ever asked you? That would certainly make you a stalker as far as he is concerned.
Sincerely,
Elaine
