When He Calls After a First Date

Talking on the phone after a first date may be overly exciting if the first date went great and you look forward to seeing the guy again.. But at the same time you may be anxious from not knowing what to say to him on the phone when he calls. Here are some tips for a phone conversation after a first date.

If you’ve followed the general guidelines given in Find Your Future Husband you will have great success in attracting a guy’s interest on your first date. He won’t know much about you after a first date, but he does know you’re friendly, you smile, you’re not overbearing and you didn’t try to be pushy in your desire to get to know him. Above all else, he knows you think he’s attractive and he will also know there is no way he’ll see you again unless he calls you – because it's the man's job to call a woman after a first date. More often than not you’ll find he’ll call you that day or, at worst, within a few days.

When he calls, you will want to thank him and say that you are pleased he did. Now that he has shown interest, you can chat with him if you want to, but it is recommended you keep the conversation short and simply make sure he'll ask you if you’d like to meet up (since he made the contact, meeting up for lunch, dinner or any other reason is fine, so long as you pick a public location).

Naturally, you can suggest a meeting yourself. Since he called you, you already know that he is interested. If he is a shy guy he may be hesitant to ask you out. He may feel that you need to get more comfortable and that you may need to get to know him by chatting on the phone a few times. In this case you will need to suggest a meeting. You should not fear rejection, because if he was not going to ask you out, he would not have called.
